Have the billionaires considered getting together and giving their money away transparently to worthy causes like education, healthcare, and the arts to preempt the wealth tax? Wouldn't they get more happiness out of that than, say, funding super PACs to stop wealth tax legislation?

I think it's actually that we're worried we've gotten so out of social customs that we aren't sure what the right words are for the situation (or that they'll be received as such) and then just chicken out of trying.
