Senator Tim Sheehy of Montana, a Navy veteran, assaulted a U.S. Marine at the Capitol yesterday. He cannot plausibly claim that the Capitol Police needed his help. Sheehy committed a crime. He should resign and be prosecuted for it.
How about holding Trump and his minions accountable to law, reining in SCOTUS, ending ICE, and insisting that Congress decide when we go to war?
Every two or four years I read the speculation that Texas will elect a Democrat to statewide office or to the U.S. Senate. It won’t. The election rules in that state are set up to favor the GOP and the electorate is clearly Republican-leaning.

Trump will drop a bunch of bombs, claim victory, and move on. He does not have the slightest idea about strategy or long-term thinking. And U.S. credibility will be heavily damaged by this approach, too, because every adversary will know it can just wait out a barrage and then Trump will back down.
