Green Party members were out with @councillorq.bsky.social in Berridge Ward today litter picking in the local park and surrounding areas. In total, 8 full bags of rubbish have now been collected and are ready for disposal.

Lots of visits in recent weeks! Thanks to: Masjid al-Khazra for inviting the Greens to their community iftar; Salaam Shalom Kitchen for feeding 150+ people per week with warmth & generosity; Djanogly Academy students for their questions; and Notts Women's Centre for being a vital space to connect 💫

Yesterday was a monumental day for Nottingham and the Green Party. Through the efforts of our Green Councillor Shuguftah Quddoos and Party Activist Animah , as well as countless others, a motion to Boycott, Divest, and Sanction Israel has been passed uncontested.

Eliza's story is in Notts Live today. Her essential personal care has been cut as a result of Labour cllrs voting for a 'review' of high needs care packages.

This is the human impact of cuts to public services. Disabled residents & unpaid carers deserve better & I'll keep amplifying their voices.

Before I was a cllr I worked for several women's shelters. Now, I often handle domestic violence cases & I couldn't do it without my caseworker, Tamia. She always goes the extra mile behind the scenes. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month & I want to thank her for the hidden work she does 🤍

As another heatwave hits the UK, the UK Green Building Council have said the UK’s schools, care homes and offices are not equipped for the effects of global heating.

Israel — on trial for genocide at the ICJ, with leaders under ICC arrest warrants — bans journalists from Gaza to hide its genocide with lies & hasbara.

The evidence of war crimes is overwhelming — yet the UK government still refuses to implement a full arms embargo & sanctions.

You know this is the point - it's the lazy city.

You need food, you pop to the shop, you want to go to the pub, you just go. You walk to work.

No need to think about if your car is fueled, about traffic, parking., anything.
