X is just as much an enclosed, tiny and echoey silo as Bluesky, it's just that the people on X still seem convinced they're plugged directly into the brain of policymakers and high-powered decision makers like the Matrix chair, and it completely acidifies and collapses their brain

Agree with most of your thread Joe. Have been an advocate of improving focus & messaging on Assemblies for TIME. One issue has been they aren't understood or well communicated by XR. Also much easier for the media + "f-the-system-rebels" (not "rethink the system organisers") to focus on "actions".
Plenty more to say about why approving new oil & gas fields isn't the right tactic for a thriving, prosperous future for the UK, but even on the government's own "growth for growth's sake" approach, it doesn't make sense to double down on O&G:
