At the beginning of the year that Tennessee game in February looked like it was going to be a good test later in the season. Didn't quite work out.
But yeah the Big East has been a shockingly bad basketball conference outside of UConn.
If you're watching women's college hoops this March โ this feed exists for you.
Live updates, reactions, recaps from real fans of the games. The only(?) dedicated spot for live coverage of women's college basketball on Bluesky! Follow along. ๐๐ฆ

Ranking of non-conference college basketball SOS by conference showing the SWAC and Southland having the toughest schedule and the A-10 and Ivy with the easiest.
We know Power 4 teams said no to Miami OH but they loved themselves some SWACtion!
All 12 SWAC teams had AT LEAST 2 games against P4 teams.
The SWAC was 0-46 in those games.
From the P4 perspective why would they risk scheduling a Miami OH or St Louis when they can pay a SWAC team for a W?

Peacock is the worst at promoting their content. Last week their sports lead was a random MCBB game between like Creighton and DePaul while the women had a pair of top 10 teams playing in a rivalry game that was an instant classic buried in the app.

Perfect answer!
There's so much demand and energy around women's sports. If the league can't tap in and maximize revenue then that sounds like a league / ownership problem. Because the players have clearly been able to capitalize on that momentum with Unrivaled.
What a night of #Unrivaled hoops!
Saw the Mist-Breeze ending highlight before watching the full game this morning and legit thought I had the wrong clip or it was from a different game. Wild finish.
Great show for the Brooklyn crowd โ should be a fun one tomorrow night!
It feels like the metrics have a real fetish for mid/lower tier Power 4 teams and that could be the one thing that saves a team like NC State.
There are garbage teams like ND who are 4-12 in the ACC and 13-16 overall that count as Quad 2 wins.
Oh yikes! Just read that last sentence about the gap year! Any school who lets this grown ass man on their roster should be banned from the tournament.
Whoever leaked the bracket during this nonsense remains a hero.
Another Sunday. Another juggernaut schedule for women's college basketball!
So yeah I hope someone stumbles on this and finds it helpful.
Everyone's experience with rare disease is different - but I think are generally applicable.
And if you're here because you've been diagnosed with DM then check out the Myositis Association. There's lots of helpful resources there.
Exercise has been so important for my recovery from DM.
Work with your doctor to determine where to start. Give yourself grace. Don't benchmark against what you could do pre-diagnosis. Meet yourself where you are.
My first workout was walking 100 feet and that was a struggle.
Information sharing across physicians is still very poor. Electronic medical records are optimized for billing - not patient care.
Do not assume all physicians have the same data. Bring your lab results and notes with you so you can speak to them with other physicians you see.
Advocate for yourself.
Bring someone to appointments and compare notes after to ensure nothing was misunderstood.
Ask questions. It's best to have these written down before an appointment.
Understand reasoning for the decisions are being made. This is important because...
Get a second opinion.
Getting a correct diagnosis is critically important.
Same with treatments. Rare diseases don't always have the benefit of large clinical trials evaluating effectiveness of different treatments.
There's no downside to getting a second opinion.
For DM specifically IVIG is a FDA approved therapy. If you get a denial you can check your insurer's website for their clinical coverage guidelines. Work with your doctor to make sure the proper clinical evidence is sent with the prior auth. Denials can occur due to clerical / coding errors.
Be proactive. Talk to your doctor early about what to do in the case of a denial so if it does happen you know what to do.
If it's a medication that's denied your doctor might be able to provide you with some sample meds to get you through the appeal process so you don't miss / delay treatment.
Always appeal. Treatments for rare diseases are more likely to be denied.
They're expensive. Many treatments are off-label uses. And the physician making the coverage decision is probably unqualified to evaluate your case. The default is denial.
So...
Being diagnosed with a rare disease is scary and can feel super isolating.
So for #RareDiseaseDay here is a thread of some things I learned navigating life with a rare disease (dermatomyositis).
Hopefully this is helpful for someone out there. ๐งต
What a heads up play from Jaloni Cambridge! We got OT!
That was a beautiful play set up by Jaloni Cambridge! Drive. Defense collapses. Kickout. One more pass and a wide open 3. #wcbb
BC and Wake are out there playing a game of first to 60 wins tonight.
This Kansas game is ugly (real ugly). Grounding myself with today's mantra:
Bill Self doesn't lose on Big Mondays in AFH. Bill Self doesn't lose on Big Mondays in AFH. Bill Self doesn't lose on Big Mondays in AFH. Bill Self doesn't lose on Big Mondays in AFH. #kubball
He chose a higher difficulty finish on that last drive that's for sure.
Plus investing a lot into defining boundaries between the WCBB and MCBB feeds. This is MOSTLY working. Still refining some random edge cases when they appear but a majority of the posts should be specific to women's college basketball.
Bunch of matchups in women's college basketball today! This feed surfaces the conversation from real fans watching the games. No filler, just people talking hoops. It's the best place to get live reactions and follow the WCBB community on Bluesky!

Sports are awesome.
This is arguably the worst team Kansas has lost to at home in the Bill Self era #kubball
