but likely has some modern elements (plastic foliage? may not be original). Anyone have any good contacts or resources for old taxidermy conservation/provenance? It would be cool to have an idea of where this is from and how old, but it has been donated multiple times and documentation is limited.

Museum folks! We have gotten a donation of some amazing old taxidermy pieces and I am just fascinated by one item. It's a large cabinet in what looks like a Victorian style and has some old features (oil painting background, solid carved wood frame)...

I hadn't posted about this paper before, but over the summer I added unbending features (sensu TPSutil) for fish landmark data to my package LOST. Just sent an update to CRAN to make unbend.tps.poly work for 2D and 3D data, planning to update unbend.spine too
