A lot of important work is done by nice ladies" and "changing the world is more like caregiving than like war"
Saw this @rebeccasolnit.bsky.social link on NYT today but I don't have a sub any more so good to see the full clip over here.
The interviewer is outpaced on every single question but not bad to have a cautious tone to his questions.
Yes it is. Myself & 2 friends ended up with Peugeots after that. I have a copy on DVD
Thanks Stu. I will check the details. Looking like Wahoo is the best option now
Let's talk about what happens when oil prices go through the roof and stay there - because it really isn't pretty, it's going to hit our economy incredibly hard, and it's only peripherally about how much it costs to fill the tank.

Sad to hear of the death of Herbs founding member Dilworth Karaka today. Of all the members of the band, the big man was the best communicator, and I had some good chats with him back in the day. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqaH...
Thanks Gareth. Iβm running an old iphone 12. Will look up the Quadlock though.
One last thing. It looks like I will have to buy a separate mounting arm so that might add a bit to the price. The Garmin came with all of that. Ideally though I want to be able to have a setup that can be switched between my 2 bikes.
OK - I have one in my shopping cart but vendor won't update my address so I might have to drive to the store.
Try Subway - features Christopher lambert in that too from 1985.
Also i did see him once in a kung fu? Martial arts film that was played strictly for laughs. Mortal Combat 1995 movie. He is memorable for sure.
Thanks again. The two products i see the most are the Garmin Edge & the Wahoo Bolt so looking at Bolt now. Never heard of Hammerhead before.
Ok thanks Stu. I just need some kind of mapping for one off rides like Tour Aotearoa. And new to the area rides.
I donβt have that problem but as all my data is saved outside the Garmin system I am happy to switch if a good reason. I started on Polar watches back in 90βs and despite being Basic they worked well for about 10 years. That s/w locked me in but was terrible.
Parakai. Taken from jetty looking back towards Helensville.
Bike on the end of the jetty. The platform moves with the tide so just a few seconds for the pic. If left there it would fall into the river. Used to swim in the (Kaipara) river 50 years ago when it was very polluted by local Dairy company. Not sure how clean it is now though.
Had a flat bike ride today. Stopped to check out a local jetty on the Kaipara river.
Sounds like treasure
Thanks Ryan, i dont really use the s/w much as most data is pushed into Strava.
What is a wahoo cycle computer that shows maps that is worth looking at?
Any cyclists have a Garmin Edge 530 (or 540.)
Already have Garmin watch & the app so thinking the 530 will be enough & there are some good prices on 530 atm.
It gets worse. I know some Iranians who live here. Their family was told if they leave the house they will be killed by the revolutionary guard.
So danger from all directions. The guard doesnβt want any visible protests but that also makes it hard to get food & supplies.
Very difficult times
gloriously accurate - yes minister
Caitlin KALINOWSKI over X I resigned from OpenAl. I care deeply about the Robotics team and the work we built together. This wasn't an easy call. Al has an important role in national security. But surveillance of Americans without judicial oversight and lethal autonomy without human authorization are lines that deserved more deliberation than they got. This was about principle, not people. I have deep respect for Sam and the team, and I'm proud of what we built together.
OpenAI head of robotics just resigned over company deal with the Pentagon sayingβ¦

Flying rooster? Broomstick as a fencepost. All normal?
For those who have forgotten the past 40 years:
Tax cuts for the rich
...donβt trickle down
Boosting military spending
...doesnβt bring peace
Slashing regulations
...doesnβt create jobs
Folks, weβve seen this all before.
Large pale pink flowers on a magnolia tree.
Good morning! β¨
The magnolias in my area are already in full bloom, about a week earlier than last year, so nothing too dramatic. π±
Wishing you a lovely weekend!
This is just to say
I am ignoring
the polls
that are so bad
and so low
and which
you were probably
going to use
as an excuse for the spull
Iβm not sorry
I canβt be rolled
I will have my entitlements
and I wonβt be told.
Might write longer on this at some point but the McDonaldβs CEO barely being able to eat the trash food he sells to poorer people around the world is Big Food / fast food in a nutshell: people getting very wealthy selling food theyβd never eat to someone elseβs kids.
Sidebar: they often have overwhelming resources & an inflated view of their capabilities. Not winners but has form in punching down
