Luckily I could use my own router but that's been hours of my life configuring it I won't get back. Luckily the router supports cloning a MAC address otherwise the ONT (optic fibre box) will not connect to it at all :(
But hey. Things seem to be working again. We'll see...
Finally got fibre with YouFibre and I've been reasonably pleased with the service so far. The default router they supply has been pretty poor though - a buggy slow UI and seemed to just have issues with some devices.
I had an issue I've been putting up with for years - windows in Gnome took seconds to appear. Turning off animations, suddenly it's instant! Crazy I'd put up with it for so long.

So I'll just be directing Claude to write my stupid code from hereon. And I'll something more enjoyable in Clojure or something.
This doesn't feel like I'm programming, just more pushing things around till they work.
Worse still, Claude.ai was just like "yeah, here's this undocumented API call that does what you want". And it was right. The code worked. 🙃
Keep falling into this stupid "lights-out" like game of getting things working in JavaScript/Typescript land. There's always some issue that affects your particular combination of builder/framework/JS dialect.

Don't know why I'm obsessed with pressing Ctrl+L to clear the terminal after every command. I'm now in a terminal that doesn't support it and it's driving me mad.

I wanted to try and find a new job last year but only went to 2 interviews in the end. Put off by a mix of leetcode questions and bureaucratic muck ups. And all that just to gate-keep the same old CRUD development jobs.
