Cozy Coupe U-Drive uses a SONIX SNT110FG. Bit of a surprise, was expecting this to be an SPG29X based on it being an MGA game with scaling etc. (It's terrible, there's a video on YouTube from ZC Infinity if you're interested)

I thought the broken scrolling in the 'Helicopter' game on these BornKid / Beijeu units was a unSP2.0 core emulation bug (even if I'd traced the code extensively and couldn't find it)
Nope, happens on hardware.
I doubt it. I think these ones might be using emulators of some sort (as we've seen what are typically SunPlus based games, and NES/VT based games on the same units) but it's probably some custom solution like the S+Core ones that have a NES emulator on.
Code is encrypted on them though.
I guess at least they realised it was stupid, as in other units it's Boom Blocks (assuming Maze Pac is the earlier name anyway)
I mean it's slightly more logical than a Tetris game called Maze Pac
It's not even Pac-Man in this case, it's another case of these Chinese handhelds putting 'Pac' in a title that's completely unrelated.
It's a hack of www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gC_... (a snake game)
based on the case I'd say this was from 2022, so yeah, it's a device Starbucks licensed for production in China, made by Subor, that has a hack of Super Mario Bros. (and 11 other games) on it.
has 'loading' screen between games/menus though, so could be the annoying tech with encrypted code
strange Starbucks China handheld game, only has about 12 games on it though.

Monchichi 'Fluffy Puzzle' was dumped by PlasticFactory and Zak. This runs on a Sunwise board with the same VDP as many of the Toaplan shooters. It's unclear if this was released. It's a strange puzzle game where you link huggy characters to build pipes to reach the exit.
First time I've seen one with this boot screen. It's ripped from the movie flyers, right?
Yeah, doesn't feel like that long. At least if I revisit it I'm in a better position to improve things like the sound now though (and other stuff related to the later GeneralPlus/SunPlus chips)
basically, while practically nobody on the planet is going to care about these things, they're a pretty interesting branch of tech / software development.
annoyingly getting hold of the earliest units with 20 or so games on is proving more difficult than I'd expect.
the early ones (SoC based around a 6502) run at 160x128, while the SunPlus ones run at 320x240, but there's also a version using the 6502 SoC running at something between those (but I haven't managed to dump the internal SoC ROM from those yet)
there seem to be multiple generations of them, with many of the same games ported
even the 1.8" ones use different versions of the tech, the early ones Flash ROM, the later ones SPI
They got ported to SunPlus at some point www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2m1... (from MAME)
but this seems newer again
Dragon 32 vibes
I got another one of those "HD 360 Degrees Rocker Palm Eyecare Console" systems. This one shows 2 checksums in test mode. I think it's slightly newer tech than the previous SunPlus based one. 1st Checksum completes more quickly, maybe internal ROM checksum?
I've added a bunch more pictures to the 'MAME 2025' page mamedev.emulab.it/haze/2025-ti... This only really scratches the surface of things that have been done, as many of the more obscure things are difficult to cover. Not everything shown is playable as it's meant to represent progress.
Some of the tunes found here would later be used for Super Sprint instead. There was a small amount of missing/corrupt data in Atari's backup used by one of the background columns, which has been restored.
We're lucky to have anything. Atari had no official back-up policy, they were done on request.
Had this been released in 1985 it would have been one of the first, if not the first music based video arcade game. It plays a lot closer to 'Simon' than say Konami's DDR, but I think represents a missed opportunity for Atari, even if it would have needed expanding upon to be a real success.
So Atari's Jammin' prototype has been recovered from VAX tape backups by SynaMax, Dutchman2000. I've hooked it up in MAME, it runs on some kind of Donkey Kong kit hardware with extra YM2151.
This has been further improved

I actually sent one of these to TeamEurope recently, who attempted to dump what looked like the ROM glob, but it does't seem to contain anything that looks valid.
Might be the code is internal to the CPU, and can't be dumped.
Some different 666-in-1 NES/VT bootleg consoles were dumped.
The G6 only has Chinese/English
The G7 has Spanish/Chinese/English
The G9 (previously dumped) has Spanic/Chinese/English/Russian.
The G6/G7 also show G6/G7 in the menu background, didn't notice that before.
One thing I didn't realise when the first of these Tou ma Pet devices was dumped is there are different versions of them (different OK-xxx codes, different case stiles) which presumably have different software. Here are 3 of them.
The Wiii3 was dumped, although I don't have proper controls hooked up yet (this is one of those where the code to read the controls is messy and is going to take a bit of figuring out)
Another high effort XaviX game was Champiyon Pinball from Tomy
www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vBR...
This again has some nice music with Ramacat's fixes, and I hadn't previously uploaded gameplay footage, only attract demo.
Another pair of XaviX highlights are the very obviously Sonic inspired Super Dash Ball and Gururin World, both from Epoch
www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUCJ...
www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0-0...
Super Dash Ball uses trackball controllers, Gururin World is a tiny unicycle.
Sound is improved in both.
..and if you play only one XaviX based game, make sure it's Geigeki Go Go Shooting. This shmup doesn't deserve to be a plug and play exclusive. Satoshi Fujishima formerly of Compile was involved in the development. The new sound emulation does it justice. www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRAL...
