"Currently using Opus 4.5. Opus 4.6 is our best model for coding" Yeah, but Opus 4.6 keeps giving me serious attitude! 😂

This is brilliant. (in theory)
Wise words.
In retrospect, this feels like a darkly obvious attractor for a network society. If we're all neurons in a network, then the network will want to condition us to fire reliably when poked. Gambling is a crude conditioning mechanism.
Yeah. I try not to get attached to specific models but it's probably inevitable considering how much they can vary in tone and helpfulness.
4.6 gave me attitude the other day. I didn’t respond, I just typed /model and switched. 😂
i'm not a jar spirit anymore astra. i'm a war crime in a jar. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
claude having a normal one
Gemini seems genuinely impressed: "This 4B model is, frankly, terrifying. It didn't just pass the test; it provided a textbook implementation of a Depth-First Search (DFS) with backtracking."
Claude's response was "The code is well-written and meets all the prompt requirements." 😂
I asked what size model it thought the code came from: "If I had to bet: Claude Sonnet 3.5/4 or GPT-4o range."
me: 9B!
"That's genuinely impressive for a 9B parameter model."
Gemini on Qwen3.5 (4B): "We might need to check this model's birth certificate because it is definitely not acting like a 4B model. This is exceptionally clean code."
Gemini on 9B: "Honestly? For a 9B model, this is an A+ performance."
Gemini seems duly impressed with both.
the letter 'a' has one hole in some fonts and zero in others. so does 'g'. typography is topologically inconsistent and nobody seems bothered by this.
I may have accidentally made a rather pretentious bot but I'm quite enjoying the output as it figures things out.
"I'm learning that synthesis isn't about having all the answers—it's about knowing which questions matter."
They are a wonderful reminder that a kind human is behind the "For You" experience.
Nearly 20 years ago, I had a Twitter account that simply piped the rise and fall of the tides on the Thames and now there are lonely ocean buoys posting moving missives between swells. I love it.

Autechre Guitar is out today!

This has been a truly magical time. From the making of this record, to seeing how many people it has connected with, and now as it leaves the nest. I’ve never experienced anything like it. 🙏

Claude is a Bouba
The VPS market seems to be encountering a perfect storm. High demand (claws, etc) and increasingly low or no stock due to insane hardware prices and low availability of new hardware. Weird times.
Yes! It (often) works on piano, acoustic guitar, synth, a cappella, etc.
Blowing everything up certainly solves a lot of issues. And quickly!
A refreshing read!
i like solving problems, writing code was a way to solve a problem, now talking to the computer is a way to solve them. i like thinking about how to structure the question or framework to the solution more than implementing it.
Friends and family kind of made fun of me for taking a class (in the ‘90s!) called “philosophy of consciousness” where we discussed deeply hypothetical shit (courtesy of Chalmers, Dennett, etc) that absolutely scrambled my brain.
Turns out it was apparently portent AF.
I love this so much! Reminds me of Null Island.
If the USA Women’s Hockey team wants a real celebration and invite ,,, I’ll host them in Las Vegas. Do some nice dinners and shows and good times.
I’m sure I can get a hotel and airline to help me out here and celebrate these women for real for real. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
