been working on my own version of the 'fail' crate for @cap.so that allows fail points to be toggled in real-time.
all declared 'fail' (panic) and 'fail_err' (Err return) points are collected by the 'inventory' crate, and a global map that our debug window can modify toggles them on and off.

After helping with the new recorder + editor for a while, I'm excited to be a part of building the open source screen recording suite our users have been asking for.
built a new video decoder for cap.so that uses native macOS APIs and omg it's so much faster

Yeah I get what you're saying, the email is basically just for marketing purposes at the end of the day. First email you receive, you can just unsubscribe. If you only make recordings locally/edit locally we don't emit any events or store anything on our end. Thank you for your feedback though!

It's a trade off for sure. At the end of the day, for our hosted version and with such a small team, we do need to make revenue. Cap is 100% open source, so you can compile the app locally and there'll be no auth wall!

pretty happy with this mic level indication i've made for cap.so, should be super helpful for distinguishing microphone issues from recording/encoding issues
