+ was losing a health care centre under a previous government. The opposition MLA was alerting the community, encouraging them to organize.
People just shot back that it was his responsibility to organize a rally (which of course would taint it).
It was quite startling to see.
It seems that the balance is gone. Even when bad governments had majorities in the past there would be a groundswell of community action supporting initiatives to push back undertaken by the opposition, but that has largely evaporated.

This is a mistake.
It is a very responsible role for which background and experience are necessary but just working into the position from a less typical route shouldn’t be in and of itself a disqualifier, as the lack of relevant experience and extremely poor aptitude should be.
