We shouldn't shy away from ethical questions like "what are we doing this for, and why? Who does this solution really serve and how?".
Ignoring these does ourselves an intellectual disservice, creating boring and unoriginal solutions, where at best we end up competing on axes where we have no moat.
We ran a randomized controlled trial to see how much AI coding tools speed up experienced open-source developers.
The results surprised us: Developers thought they were 20% faster with AI tools, but they were actually 19% slower when they had access to AI than when they didn't.

While I agree, I also think there's an angle of f2p where (theoretically, not necessarily in practice) the rich spend more to maintain the game, and the poor pay nothing, which feels like quite an egalitarian system to me when it's not pay-to-win.
