half of the shitty things reported by science sleuths are from SR. I see too many lately to be just one going through accidentaly. It is more of a system

Horizontal interval with dots chart showing the probability ranges assigned by survey respondents to 19 vague probability expressions, from
"Almost No Chance" to "Will Happen". For each row shows the 50%, 80%, and 95% intervals of responses alongside the median. Terms at the
extremes show more tight agreement while middle terms like "Realistic Possibility" and "Might Happen" show wide variation across respondents.

but sometime, if you look at the network transfer when loading the page (using the inspect right button click, then network, then fetch/XHR), you will see a call to a json file, with a url you can use to get directly the data. I downloaded a lot of data like that

Started playing Sims 4 a couple weeks ago. Surprised there’s no #rstats or #dataviz CC out there, so I’m on it!

How...

@jamiecummins.bsky.social wrote some things about silicon samples that are worth reading:

Where things stand with the Department of War A statement from Dario Amodei

I think one of the most staggering industry shifts in my 16 years as a tech reporter is that it’s not become a question of β€œshould our product help the government kill and/or surveil people?” but β€œto what extent?”

The canvas() function from the ggview R package is very useful for previewing/tweaking a ggplot into publication-ready format: it renders a plot "as it would appear if saved to a file with the specified dimensions".
