We were fortunate to hear and learn from several young leaders on the tools and support systems they need to navigate mental health with themselves and their loved ones. Thank you to all who joined us, and a special shoutout to the young people who attended!
We brought together mental health providers, community leaders, and young people, including MCPS students, to center and elevate the voices of young people in the mental health space.
As part of my Mental Health Initiative, I held a second Mental Health Convening last week at the Gwendolyn Coffield Community Center in Silver Spring.

The council approved new regulations on Emergency Safety Plans for apartment buildings. These regulations implement portions of Bill 7-24, which I introduced following the Arrive Silver Spring fire of 2023.

The Montgomery County nonprofit security grants program continues with increased funding since its inception to respond directly to Antisemitic attacks and threats, to ensure we are a welcoming and inclusive community for all residents.
January 27th is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Today, we remember the mass murder of millions of Jews and other targeted groups who were marginalized, imprisoned, and killed by the Nazis.
