Cops may be worthless, and the law may change. The one thing that will never change is our resilience and resolve. When I stood up from my seat on the train after he'd told me that he would kill me if he saw me entering a women's bathroom, he visibly recoiled from me. These people are cowards.

The law may not always be on your side, and even if it is, it usually won't help you anyway. Cops exist to defend capital, not you. Know the law, know your rights, and most importantly, know how to defend yourself. Carry a weapon if you can, learn self defense if you can't.

But it's not even punished here despite being illegal. And who knows if I'll be protected by the law forever. The point I want to make with this story? The reason why I felt reasonably safe (if obscenely, obscenely furious)? It's because I know how to fuck someone up.

However, the criminal who threatened me was also British. In his country, it would be a crime for me to use the correct bathroom. It still wouldn't be legal for him to threaten me over it but, given that, he'd be infinitely more likely to go unpunished. Or perhaps he'd just call the police instead.

I don't actually expect it to do anything, mind. My biggest hope is that he'll get a phone call basically amounting to 'hey, you got accused of this obvious crime. Did you do it?' with the expectation that he'll deny it but it might dissuade him from fucking around in the future.

aside from the absurdity of saying that harassment isn't a crime, a credible threat of violence is assault. When I told him this he kind of just made some excuses. Ultimately he told me he'd call me back. I don't trust him for shit so I'll be making an in-person statement tomorrow.

I later approached the police at the station over this. ACAB and all but I'd like crimes to be responded to. When I reported this, the officer told me that it wasn't a crime because it was only harassment. Thankfully I either know more about the law than him or know enough to know he was lying:
