I'm not sure if this post has a goal other than put it out there, but I've tried a few times now and I can't come back. Is there any hope for me? Or worse, was I on the right path all along?

I instantly feel like I have nothing to do with this anymore, and that I actually have to put effort in, to submit myself to it. I go in and it hurts me.
I don't get my news or learning from Twitter anymore, and I lost contact with a lot of friends, many people don't remember I exist.

I can't use social media anymore, basically any of them. Taking a distance made it worse, because now when I open it I can't get past how everything is extremely important and urgent, I can't get past the catastrophising, the screaming matches, virtue signaling and the self promotion

We are making a giant city megasim called Streets of Fortuna so the team went to Istanbul on a research trip. They met 32 cats 😺

Here's Artemis, the first cat sighting in Istanbul. Very kind, wary eyes, soft purr.

It’s unfortunate that some studios are mandating new hires be in-office only, because it just locks out so much talent and makes job searching that much more difficult and demoralizing.

Yeah, thinking of the reasons to go to GDC, the talks rank pretty low for me. Unless you really want to meet someone specific in person, it's just better to not go and get access to the Vault if you want the talks

Reminder:
- You do not NEED to go to GDC. You can want to, and that's okay! But you're not missing out/shooting your career in the foot if you don't go
- You should have specific, actionable goals to make GDC worth it for yourself to ensure you're getting real value out of it beyond "going to GDC"
