Apparently, all the credit card companies are US owned and operated. This makes anyone's credit incredibly vulnerable to sanctions issued by the US. I think the whole issue is made a bit gray by the fact that they are "publicly owned." 🤷🏾
It's never a good idea to "put all your eggs in one basket," but it seems like it was an even worse idea to allow the US to dominate so much on the national stage. Like, the US is the only place IN THE WORLD that handles credit cards. WTF? I'm shocked that any industrialized nation slept on that.

It's weird how difficult it is to find the number of people registered with whichever party. There are breakdowns per state, city, county, etc. At the national level, the word "affiliation" gets thrown around a lot. Vibes from polls. But, damn, being a registered [insert party here] is uncountable?
