Blayre Turnbull on the outside noise around Canada at the Olympics
A lot of people on the outside who were making comments about our team and our potential, the coaching strategy and roster management, those people don't have any clue what happens inside the locker room or what happens on the bench.

"Jenner is meticulous in the way she prepares. And that's why in the big moment, she shows up. She's also very versatile. She wins faceoffs. She's can play wing, obviously. She's good on the power play. She's defensively sound. She's a great leader."

Troy Ryan mentioned "the work [Spooner's] done behind the scenes to even get herself to this point. People may think that we think we're getting the Spooner of old; we're not and that's okay. She'll play a unique role, and she's setting herself up for success to be able to contribute in that role."

Ahead of Friday's announcement of Canada's roster, here are my choices. I think Zandee-Hart >> Larocque, and although I know this won't happen, I chose Tabin over Sophie Jaques, with defense (not offense) as a priority. If Nurse is still injured, Danielle Serdachny would be next to replace her.

There have been exactly 200 regular-season games played in PWHL history, beginning with a matchup between New York and Toronto on Jan. 1, 2024. Toronto’s 36 wins rank second behind Montréal’s 37, while New York’s 26 are last among the league’s six original teams.

What looks like uncertainty in Toronto’s crease is by design. Elaine Chuli and Raygan Kirk are being managed as a true tandem, not a hierarchy. Watch for my full analysis in The Hockey News!

According to my pre-game notes, Brianne Jenner is off to the best start in her PWHL career as one of 6 players in the league age 34 or older. The Charge captain is tied for the league lead with 8 points in 8 games.
Something tells me Jenner really wants to be on Canada's Olympic roster.

The Sceptres were supposedly going with a 'tandem' approach this year, but I was surprised that Elaine Chuli didn't get the start last game against Ottawa after a good game in New York. Now, if Kirk gets the start at the Bell Centre it's fair to say you don't have a 1A and 1B, you have a #1 and a 2.
