You’re absolutely right - there is an awful right wing movement in Europe that is growing, pushed by Putin mouthpieces like Musk and Farage. We’re not perfect either, I’m just pointing out that the perspective generally is quite different.

To Americans 100 years ago is a long time. To us it’s not, even if we weren’t alive then. We remember; our buildings still have the bullet holes. My family all suffered malnutrition. One of my grandfathers told stories of fighting in Italy, the other of his time with the resistance. We recognise it.
