Sounds silly but sometimes it helps to zoom out a little first and get the ~vibes~ before digging in to the individual line items. I also like comparing different statements and looking for anomalies in both words and numbers.

It is currently 8:36 AM in the UK. I am spending the day in a meeting and taking an 8 PM flight home. Somehow I land in Boston at 10:30 PM for a total of 48.5 hours wheels up to wheels down. For now in a Wildfang suit, thrifted French cuff shirt and cufflinks, found scarf, determination.
