Last night I landed an acceptance at a mag Iβve been sending to since 2005. You got to be stubborn, I guess, to be a poet.

The editors at Ninth Letter have been supportive of my work for years, and Iβm grateful this new poem (from book six!) has landed in their latest issue. This issueβs TOC is full of starsβIβm lucky to be among them! β¨

Hi poetry reviewers, writers, readers: hereβs a document I made of paying reviews markets. Holler at me if you see something that needs to be updated/deleted/added! π I would appreciate it. Would love this to be a community resource for freelance writers to be paid for their criticism.
Thinking back to your MFA days, what are some things you wish you'd been taught regarding professionalization. I have a decent list going, but I'd to hear others. Thanks, friends!
now the true test: stepping away for a while...
With four days to spare until the contract at work starts up, I finished a manuscript today.

ADAM CLAY A Photograph of a Grain of Salt Some mornings everything feels spectacular or maybe I mean everything feels like spectacle. The rain seems unbelievable on the other side of the curtains. Outside, crime scene tape whips in the wind like some twenty-first century tumbleweed. Tomorrow night so far away, I don't imagine knowing why. A hand in front of my faceβmy hand-disappears when I hold it up. About suffering what if the old masters had it wrong, how a frame can't hold everything or how some musings fall short to what loss can mean on a microscopic level. A look at anything up close is like looking at everything at once and then it's like nothing, nothing at all.

"Your sister has no thesis" really stuck with me. If I was teaching comp, this would be a good stock comment that 1% of my students would get.
Itβs so so good
