Well foreign troll farms are a thing, and state actors have been working hard to muddy the waters and spread disinformation since well before social media. It’s entirely believable that all platforms have a certain percentage of bad actors here & abroad whose job it is to sway the undecided

Yeah I’ve engaged rationally a couple of times and got dogpiled for my efforts. They are not arguing in good faith. At best, they are trying to make themselves feel better and are not interested in self reflection.
But I’m not assuming best intentions.

I rewatched Last Starfighter recently and it holds up really well. The effects are obviously dated but that’s to be expected, and the rest of the film is wonderful all around. I can only imagine a remake would flip that: great effects; soulless otherwise.

His whole catalogue is filled with stronger material (though he dropped the ball a bit in the late 80s). Cars is just the catchy one. His early stuff is phenomenal, and he hit his stride again in the 90s with Sacrifice and has been absolutely unstoppable.
