I 3D Printed this sign a while back, and I'm glad I did. Days like these, it's nice to have a physical reminder every time I walk down the door.
It's been a hard day.
Since I didn't know what coins my brother gambles on, I whipped up a Svelte webapp to control the coins displayed, and hosted it on Firebase Hosting.
I used the tft_eSPI library to write the UI, used the (free tier) of the coinmarketapi to get the coin prices via a Cloud Function and stored it on Firestore using the free tier.
The esp queries the data once an hour since that's how often the data gets pulled from CMC anyway
So, for the tech stack? I used an esp32c6 from Waveshare, there's a kit that comes with the tiny 1.47 inch screen and USB C.
I'm not super comfortable coding c, but between copilot and some old fashioned forum elbow grease, we got the job done
