Sharing here tonight for no particular reason that disability, like race or gender, is not a costume for an actor to wear, especially when opportunities for actual disabled talent are so rare — and in a culture that mindbogglingly links employment to health insurance
I hope you are doing as well as can be expected these days.
I'm lately very torn between wondering if it makes sense to stay in LA while the industry is collapsing and not wanting to be a disabled person in a red state. Stuff like this is helpful to see...

Just to be clear, Colbert was number one in the ratings and a talk show is about the cheapest thing you can put on television. It’s a game show without prizes. Oh and Trump hates to be laughed at.
When I met Ryan Coogler several years ago, we were standing in a group of people chatting, when a woman with visible hearing aids walked up, and he casually began to sign the whole conversation so she could participate. She mouthed “thank you”. He nodded and just kept doing his thing.

Amazing to learn, bc cinematography is an area of film I've always felt esp intimidated by, as a wheelchair user. Carrying heavy equipment? Not for me.
