This is the greatest book I’ve ever read.
I’m still offended at their depiction of sheep, but the way the heroine defeats the Big Bad is the best (and most ridiculous/deranged) fiction I have ever read. What a time to be alive.

I love you even when you’re a potato. Lemme figure out if I can make logistics work and I’ll keep you updated. Would be around Apr 3-6 if I can make it work!
…or I will when my pre-order comes through in a few weeks.
And now I have 223 unread books on my kindle.
(To be clear you do not have to lure me with sheep.) :)
I should come visit soon. Hmm.
Of interest, I’m not on call Easter Weekend.
Let me know if a sheep farm comes available near you and I’ll coax my family to move. Maybe. By drugging them and sneaking them into a car. Surely that will work?
Anyway long story short I think I have both of those regardless of the backlog. :/
I finished a book recently and was digging around the “unread” filter on my kindle.
Um there are 222 unread books on my kindle.
Oh no.
Anyway I bought two more this morning. (It’s not my fault, I’ve heard good things about Ali Hazelwood!) BUT I started reading something I already owned!
I’m 30 pages in and there are some inaccuracies around sheep but I’ll let it go.
The world is too terrible so I’ve been disassociating by reading incessantly. Today I started on “That Time I Got Drunk And Yeeted A Love Potion At A Werewolf.”
Rarely do I see things on this app that truly shock me
Asked if he had ever witnessed Sim make ad hominem attacks like this before, Fry told The Tyee that he had witnessed the mayor make a similar type of statement about former Green Party councillor Adriane Carr. “It was an in-camera meeting, so I can’t really get into what the subject matter was. But the tenor and approach was very similar: it targeted Coun. Carr, and shortly thereafter she made the decision to leave council,” Fry said. The Tyee reached out to Carr, who confirmed a remark from Sim made during an in-camera meeting was one of the reasons she resigned from council in January 2025. “There was a pivotal moment that I made that decision, and that decision was because of something that happened in camera,” said Carr, adding she had also been disheartened by ABC motions that undid much of the climate crisis work she helped initiate, leading up to this in-camera incident. “Any staff person or councillor that was in that meeting will know what I’m talking about. After that point I made it quite clear in public that I had lost complete confidence and trust in the mayor.”
wait
wtf???

Hey drivers: honking at geese just makes them honk back. It does not make them move faster, they are petty and vindictive and will sit in the street twice as long just to piss you off.
Anyway keep it up it’s hilarious.
Still stuck on this today. The mayor told a story about being inexcusably gullible to excuse previous questionable behaviour so bad as to be potentially legally actionable.
His excuse for his lack of critical judgement was a previous lack of critical judgement.
That's bad for a leader!
One bit of good news in a sea of postponements by the city of Vancouver is this:
"Staff have conclusively determined that under the Vancouver Charter, Bitcoin is not an allowable investment asset for the City, and therefore recommends that this work be concluded"
Look, I don’t even like Sean Orr that much. I voted for him with nose held and have felt mostly meh about his performance as councillor. Better than many, but he’s no Lucy.
But he should sure as fuck be suing Ken Sim for defamation. What an absolute crock.
That’s not an apology. An apology would be saying, equivocally, that what he said was untrue, not that it wasn’t verified. He’s leaving a football field width of wiggle room for “well I don’t know for SURE but this is what I was told.” It still doesn’t stop people from thinking it’s real.
This isn’t just a mistake an apology to @seanorr.bsky.social can fix. This is opens up the city to huge liability.
What other decisions has Ken Sim made that we now need to question the source and reliability of them?
I’m gonna need a referral of some sort here. Haha.
Honestly they could make it pitch dark at 10am all year round and I’d still prefer it over changing times twice a year.

Global News’ Ben Mulroney shared a bideo of airstrikes. The footage is actually from a video game.
The host of Global News’ The West Block gets lost in a misinformation-driven fog of war as American and Israeli forces strike Iran
Yeah that was the exact discussion I had with Dan. The good stuff goes viral and it turns out that’s the only good stuff. Welp.
Ok Connor Storrie is knocking it out of the park performing-wise, but SNL is just… not funny … at all? This is cringy af.
It’s 26 degrees in my bedroom. Not entirely sure why we put the air conditioner into storage this year at all.
Wow, what a terrible headline. He didn’t “apologize 18 times,” he said 18 times that he’d already apologized (which, given his behaviour so far, is clearly a claim that should be verified before it’s reported).
Atta boy. 😹
Yessss! It may have only been for 3 months, but I’m still a 70s baby dammit.
People are still surprised I’m as old as I am, presumably because I’m super immature, but I delight in being older. Except for the sore back and the perimenopause and the need for reading glasses.
I do, but that’s still a subset of gen-x, so I’ll claim both.
Mostly because I enjoy teasing my elder-millennial spouse for being into older women. Cougar power.
