Hi Ralph! 50 years on, have perceptions toward the film shifted over time? Do people seem more (or less) understanding of its intent these days? Do young people converse with you about it (or your other films)?

DILLINGER is back on Blu-ray! I can't fully recommend the new bare-bones edition when Arrow's version (now OOP) had some cool extras, but if you just want to own the movie, it's once again available. cinapse.co/2026/02/back...
I saw the headline before seeing your comment and my brain immediately did the same thing.
Bud Cort in THE LIFE AQUATIC
RIP to a bond company stooge who was also a human being
I donβt give a fuck about Trump shitting his pants any more than I do his ordering steak well-done with ketchup or other human foibles. What I do care about is his calamitous stupidity outweighed only by his unshakable allegiance to evil.
Describe your Bluesky account in a single image.
If youβre a grown ass man in full tactical gear asking a child to show you ID or proof of citizenship you failed at life. Utterly & completely failed. Loser.
Crying with laughter reading this. To this day Iβve never seen PLAGUE DOGS (and likely never will) but for some reason saw WATERSHIP DOWN multiple times growing up.
Aw bummer it didnβt animate the gif but this is where he turns Pinocchio back into an inanimate marionette. s3.crackedcdn.com/phpimages/ar...
Adrift after the Civil War (lost), Ethan returned to his kin only for them to be murdered and their little girl kidnapped. He was fueled by bitterness and racism and even made himself hate the victim. But everything cleared in an instant when he confronted her, and she became that little girl again.
I've seen and enjoyed THE SEARCHERS a few times before but I think this was the first time I actually GOT it. A simple realization that blew me away. (Yeah, I'm a little thick)
Whether intentionally or inadvertently, a major factor in this is that the guys are looking visibly aged but still killing it.
Notably not a film by Anton Corbijn, though it pays tribute to his aesthetic. It's Mexican-crafted; directed by Fernando FrΓas de la Parra, cinematography by DamiΓ‘n GarcΓa.
I'm not sure if I have the time or energy to write about it fully, but DEPECHE MODE: M (Memento Mori tour, live in Mexico City) is a unique concert film that's both a tribute to Fletch and a rumination on mortality (intercut with non-concert asides about Mexico's cultural approach to death and art).
I'm like 3 sentences into this and already convinced. This sounds extremely up my alley and I'm watching it within the next 24 hours.
I launched a new column on @cinapse.bsky.social today & began with @ryanprows.bsky.socialβs NIGHT PATROL because it has been on my mind. Minor spoilers, but nothing that will ruin the film for you. In fact, go see it this weekend while itβs still in theaters nationwide!

And in βrestorationβ.
Side note, itβs a great movie!!
Milo was cast in ROCKY BALBOA, unrelated to Sageβs death which was a few years later.
Very cool! I had no idea it wasnβt Mignolaβs original concept or created for the movie.
Frodo: I wish so much unbelievably stupid shit had not happened in my time Gandalf: So do all who live to see such times. This is all exceptionally stupid, though
Police arrested volunteers for feeding hungry people in Kansas City after 13 years of doing it without incident. Nearby businesses complained, blamed immigrants, and threatened ICE. Two volunteers were charged with trespassing. Kansas City Food Not Bombs feeds 50β100 people weekly. More cruelty π€¬
This article's been formed in my mind since viewing ALONG WITH THE GODS over 5 years ago. With the new Blu-ray release, I have an opening to talk about this incredible film from a faith context. screenfish.net/along-with-t...

Imagine being such a beta-baby bitch-boy that you would even entertain the notion of accepting someone elseβs Nobel Prize because theyβre an adult who placated your temper tantrum.
