I like play.typeracer.com for fun and monkeytype.com for practice (no idea if they work any better–I really did learn through a misspent youth on MMOs/IRC–but they're fun)

monkeytype lets you specifically practice your weakest words, that seems useful

I think they just push more and more ads into the lowest tier until it becomes unusable, forcing people to pay for "fewer ads" to access something watchable
