Yesterday, one of our union leaders was arrested during an ICE raid in Camarillo, CA, while he was lawfully observing immigration enforcement activities.

The way ICE whisked Mahmoud Kahlil out of the North and into the Deep South reminds me of 19th-century slave catchers prowling the streets of northern cities to bring free Black people to the Slave South. The boundary between the 2nd and 5th District Courts is a modern-day Mason-Dixon line.
