FT comments section this morning - saying what everyone else is thinking, right?
I've been sent this absolutely *criminal* bar chart from back down in Surrey, there's so much wrong with it I could make a list.
Interesting also that the Conservatives are putting out squeeze messaging on Reform voters.
π¨π¨ Unusual with such moral integrity for a European political leader: Spanish PM Pedro Sanches insists that #Spain won't temper criticism of #Trump's attacks on #Iran over fear of reprisals and commercial pressure. π

Pretty much. Also, Khamenei limited Iran's missile range to 2,000 km against the recommendation of the IRGC.
βOur attack was so successful we inadvertently created a power vacuumβ is a new one to me tbh

Great to speak with @meganekenyon.bsky.social of @newstatesman1913.bsky.social on location about the result in Gorton and Denton, including the role of party blocs!
Clipped my bit below, but you can watch the whole video here (bonus, there is a cat!):

Presumably the International Olympics Committee and FIFA are urgently preparing to bar the USA and Israel from their competitions, just like happened to Russia after they attacked Ukraine?

This is not a reasoned political response. Labour has spent two years making all the voting groups who backed the Greens feel unwelcome and unheard, and now attacks them for daring to back someone else. They believe Labour isnβt listening and Starmer seems determined to prove them right
π
It is quite funny in the specific sense that 10 years ago people in the Labour Party were telling me that they had to keep FPTP to stop 'pasokification'. At this rate the party may well be envying the position of Pasok within the next decade.
Truly horrifying. A very difficult read.

Lib Dem Monica Harding continued the Anecdotes of Shame. She had been working for the British Council in Tokyo when Andrew arrived on one of his trade missions. βI was told this was a containment exercise, that he was arrogant and that he wasnβt on top of his brief.β Although if we were to start chucking people out of government jobs for that, where would it end? More excitingly, she revealed that Andrew always travelled with βan ironing boardβ. A what? βThis was a euphemism for a massage bed.β Oh.

I think arguing with Martin Lewis about personal finances on GMB is a bold political strategy.
Worth following up by having a fight with David Attenborough about conservation on BBC Breakfast.

Chart showing Reform voters are far more obsessed with immigration than supporters of far right parties in mainland Europe.
Fascinating. Reform UK voters are way more obsessed with immigration that those who support their populist radical right and extreme right counterparts in continental Europe.

Turns out (says @jburnmurdoch.ft.com) it's not so much an oversupply of graduates in the UK (the same would be true of other similar countries but it's not) as an undersupply of the kind of jobs that a better-performing, more productive economy would supply.
