Got this OST along w/ all the chapter tracks on vinyl and it’s almost constantly in the play rotation.

While anything can happen long term & I’m open to this backfiring on Sony, I currently believe this is 1000% the correct move.
Without the hardware & latent revenue, PlayStation is basically dead. I’m willingly to support pivots like this that keep the hardware platform as healthy as possible.
Re: Xbox — all I can think about is the Double Fine PsychOdyssey documentary scene where Matt Booty essentially tells all creatives on the team that their ideas are property of Microsoft even if their game idea isn’t green-lit
You can see the creativity stifled in real time
there's obviously very useful reporting here from @tomwarren.co.uk, but it's hard for me to read this and not feel like bond is being thrown under the bus for the failure of a strategy that was dictated more or less from the top of MS to Xbox. www.theverge.com/tech/883015/...
Anyone who believes that Xbox will either:
1. Stand a meaningful chance of regaining mindshare in the console space at this point.
2. Return to exclusivity without it blowing up in their studios faces.
3. Commit to their "plans" for longer than 12 months.
Hit me up, I need some of that good stuff
Hol’ up real quick, all I need to do is get you on the network to resolve that. Hooking myself into BFAM, won’t take long 💻👾
What can I say Ron, I’m too busy Porting Bridges (autocorrect betrayed me)
So crazy that Phil Spencer and Sarah Bond have been removed from GamePass without any forewarning. What the hell Xbox - they were top of the backlog smh
At the *very* very least, you can certainly expect us to talk about it extensively on the live show next Thursday!
I don’t personally see Housemarque being at risk.
They’ve churned around a product within 5 years, and weren’t at all caught by the live service push.
If Astro is fine, I think Saros & games of its ilk can be too
Not condoning Bluepoints closure, but the stunted pipeline was likely the main cause
I simply don’t understand how you can’t find something for Bluepoint to do, especially when you’re swimming in IP. Unbelievably talented studio. Horrible news.
I’m crashing out
I don't normally comment on stuff like this because I've given up on understanding this business, but I'd have to think the remasters Bluepoint was known for are maybe the closest thing we had left to a predictable business model?? I get that everything is volatile but that part feels pretty safe???
What in the actual fuck. Seriously just losing the will at this point
Saros is the front runner for my GOTY, even just based off of trailers.
Returnal is the best game of the generation imo, & Housemarque one of the most underrated studios (& an underdog acquisition for Sony)
Everything I’m seeming from Saros looks Returnal+ & I can only imagine what we’ve yet to see
They must have something else to show at the SoP then, because otherwise I imagine this would have been the first party closer as they’ve been inclined to do for the past couple years.
I also wonder if we see Horizon 3 before PS6 because of this. Interested on how exactly it’s affected pipelines
✊
Would point out a couple amendments on PlayStation:
Cory Barlog’s game isn’t lined up to be God of War. There’s an external Greek metroidvania rumoured. All we have on Barlog is that it “isn’t a new IP, but will feel like one”.
Intergalactic is rumoured for 2027. Naughty Dog has a 2nd game in dev.
Cracking stuff as always lads
I think that’s the best strategy Ron!
The combat is very fun, the exploration is decent, and the writing is very in-depth; just poorly edited/paced with bad companions.
Going in with low expectations, I’ll expect you to have a pretty good time. Nothing exceptional, but a good little fantasy romp!
Wish I enjoyed this game, but man did it let me down. Will be interesting to see if they’ve improved any of the areas I had gripes with, but they’ve yet to suggest that so time will tell!
