Why does it seem like the N64 had so many snowboarding games? 1080, Snowboard Kids 1+2, Nagano, Twisted Edge, and this, unless I'm missing one?

Thanks!
Pico1K Entry submitted! Came in at 1020 compressed bytes in the end, and was a ton of fun to make. Check it out on itch at sizescape.itch.io/qball
My high score is 348, let me know if you manage to beat it! :D
Thanks @liquidream.bsky.social for hosting this jam!

Hitting up against the limits again for #pico1k. Added in a bunch the features that I wanted, and the game's starting to really come together. You can finally actually lose a run, and playing the game is cutting into my dev time, always a good sign. :D

Making good progress on #pico1k!
Moved all of the sprite assets into code, smoothed the animations, and shrank a bunch of the logic code down, made it down under 1009 bytes compressed.
Now time to enter my favorite loop--each byte I remove gives me more bytes to add new stuff in. :D

For #pico1k this year, started on a prototype of a weird idea I had: what would happen if you crossed qbert + jezzball? The resulting game is decently fun, and the very rough prototype came in at 1762 bytes, should be able to make it fit in 1k! #pico8 #arcade
Visited the SF Bay Model today, and this fine fellow is what the Army Corps of Engineers is trying to pass off as the sun.
Messing around with #pioc8 fillp constants is always fun for making these retro feeling demos.
Getting back in the #pico8 tweetcart seat, a bit of a sketch of an idea tonight, inspired by a demo I half-remember seeing, but can't find right now. I think it looks pretty neat.

If you think hating I²C is fun, wait until you try hating I³C.

Starting my next #crossstitch, maybe gridding on a 5 stitch count is overkill, lol
Finished, ironed and mounted! Procrastinated these last few steps a while, but it makes a big difference.
Mission mode has more levels like that, but they're more challenging, especially to get platinum on some of the later levels.
I'm a big fan of the whole series, and if you only played the main story of Pikmin 3, you missed the best content in the game--the mission mode is what makes that entry one of my favorites.
But who... or what is calling? #crossstitch
Finished my first 4 cross stitch kits and finally washed and ironed them! Happy how they turned out, but now what do I do with them? I probably should figure this out soon, since I already got more. 😀
Ecosia isn't really a search engine--it's a reseller of Bing search with a different marketing angle.
Making friends is a lot cheaper than making enemies. USAID and the State Department spend money today so DoD doesn't have to spend 100x that in the future.
Not the OP, but ads algorithms try to get you to go to other people's sites, e-commerce algorithms try to get you to stay on the current site, and click "buy", e.g. in the TikTok Shop.
Maybe extremely cold take? Pikmin 3's Mission Mode is better than story mode. The focused challenge and tight optimization loop is so fun.
Listening to NYT #HardFork top 100 tech rankings and it's absolutely deranged. Putting sundials and the Vine app on the same list? And somehow Juul is 20 ranks above boats?
Threw my journals from last year into Google's NotebookLM, and the generated Podcast is so positive, it's almost unbearable. Thank you, AI overlords, for being my own personal hype machine. ✨
Pikmin 3, which is an absolute blast, especially the mission mode.
What's the book called?
Got an N64 Switch controller for Christmas, and dove back into Star Fox 64. I had forgotten how much this game jumps from easy rails shooter levels to absolute chaos, and it's a ton of fun. The N64 controller makes the all-range mode controls work so much better than the Switch controller.
I just completed all 25 days of Advent of Code 2024!

Great again this year, though I started late and was busy, so only managed to break top 1k 5 times. Puzzle 15 Part 2 was a fun one for stretching Sokobon-coding muscles, and makes for a nice ASCII visualization.
