This is one of the videos the NYT has verified and links to in their reporting.
NYT: "Video verified by [NYT] showed ... rescuers digging through the rubble with building cranes and shovels, and piles of bloodied, dusty backpacks."

Since yesterday, the Einstein AI cheatbot website underwent some rebranding. The tagline changed from "Einstein does the busywork so you don't have to," to "Einstein is the personal tutor every student deserves." In the FAQ, "How does Einstein do all this?" became "How does Einstein help me learn?"
This is correct, but I also finally understood something from a really cool globular cluster simulation paper that was published when I was in fifth grade and want to make plots.
The 2026 Barkley Marathons is over. There are no finishers. #BM100
Yeah, Iβm certainly impressed. But like you Iβm not sure that a programming task with a painstakingly designed standard, formal and qualitative descriptions, tons of pedagogical walk throughs, and many reference implementations in the training set is a great analogy for all other programming tasks.
As an HIV hotline operator, I agree that the logistics are the most impressive part about this. I've heard people talk about trying to take a hundred loads in one day via cruising apps and even that level of planning is an unbelievably impressive undertaking.
It feels like a lobster trap to me. Once youβve vibe coded something itβs basically unmaintainable by a human so youβre kind of stuck interacting with your code through that interface forever.

Mamdani: Yes. Itβs also the golden snake."

Iβm at the part in Moby Dick where Herman Melville spends pages upon pages just listing every white object he can think of, and I think this book might actually just be bad.
The more I think about it, the more Iβm convinced the Democrats have to push their hand immediately. The parallels with the delays and subsequent failures after January 6th are blaring warning signs about what will happen if they donβt go after the issues with ICE and CBP at the root RIGHT NOW.
It's worth noting that the population of Minnesota is about 5.8 million, so close to 1 in 100 people in this entire amazing state showed up to say #FuckICE today
βnobody is insider trading off his death so it almost certainly didnβt happenβ really sums up the state of the world in 2026 huh
BREAM: Is the FBI investigating the ICE agent who shot Renee Good?
BLANCHE: What happened has been reviewed by millions of Americans bc it was recorded. We investigate when it's appropriate. That is not the case here. We are not going to bow to pressure. So no, we are not investigating.
Yeah I was wondering why the focus made no sense
A pika sits on a mossy rock.
Tighter crop of the same pika, focusing on its head.
An even tighter crop, focusing more on the pika's eye.
An extremely tight crop of the pika's eye, emphasizing their reflection of an early morning mountain scene.
"Pat, why do you carry that ridiculous 600mm lens on long hikes?"
Buddy, I can see mountains reflected in the eyes of a trailside pika.

βWe have been clear about our concerns with excessive use of force by federal agents in Portland and nationally. We have also been clear about our intent to investigate circumstances involving federal agents to ensure they are accountable to acting within the scope of their official duties. Todayβs incident only heightens the need for transparency and accountability. Our office will take every step necessary to ensure that the rights and security of Oregonians are protected.β
The Oregon DOJ is opening a formal investigation into an incident in Portland in which two people were shot and injured during an encounter with federal agents. The investigation will look into whether any federal officer acted outside the scope of their lawful authority and will include witness interviews, video evidence, and other relevant materials. Yeah, I think that's a good framing.
I feel like harassing a journalist by putting them in a confederate flag bikini has a very different vibe if it requires that you go on a one-hundred-reply prompt engineering odyssey to achieve it.
Let's say I made a website that algorithmically applied a sepia filter to user-uploaded images and then served them back to the users. It'd be possible for this to produce illegal content but it would be insane to blame me if it does. Is the argument that LLMs are an analogous situation?
