Polish researchers uncover secrets of mummified Egyptian boy using modern scanning
A team of Polish scientists have used modern scanning techniques to reveal some of the secrets of a mummified child from ancient Egypt, including his sex and age at death.
The research was carried out at the request of the local bishop, because the mummy is housed in the diocesan museum.

Underrated city. When I visited Lublin a few years back, I was really surprised by not just how beautiful & culturally rich it is, but how much there is to do & how great the food & drink scene is there.

Closing Eszeweria would be an act of cultural vandalism & undermine everything with gives Kazimierz its unique character
Transforming the area into another luxury destination won't make it more attractive & is yet another example of locals losing out
Eszeweria is one of a kind & needs to be saved

The BBC's new adaptation of Lord of the Flies is so good it almost single-handedly justifies the licence fee.
The music, sound, cinematography, casting, & especially acting are all faultless. It perfectly captures the boys' arrogance, uncertainty, insecurities, &, ultimaty, decsent into savagery.

Oh no! So incredibly sad to hear this news.
Although I was never taught by Pete Duncan, he always took an interest in all students & was an ever-present at postgrad & alumni events.
He will be much missed.

The BBCβs Lord of the Flies is a first-class example of an adaptation done right
Stunningly directed by Marc Munden and superbly played by its young cast, this drama is a tour de force
"The new BBC One adaptation delves deeply and reverently into Goldingβs text. It is stunningly good, a horror story told with tenderness."
