A lot of folks genuinely think that a kid will fix their lives.
Then there's the friends who said to us after adopting: "You should get one of these (kids), they're fun!" They had been married for about 10 years. A year after adopting that kid, they divorced. Fun!
This has been an issue for us most of our lives. Friendships have been lost over it. People with kids have always written us off as having nothing in common. Now since we’re older, we thought some friendships would rekindle once their kids left the nest. Nope. Now it’s the grandchildren.
