UPDATE: A small plane crashed Friday near Roosevelt Mall in Northeast Philadelphia.

The crash resulted in a massive fireball witnessed throughout the area. Police said there were multiple victims.

But everything painted there is incredibly ephemeral, lasting maybe a few months. I had heard that the ownership of the block and the walls was in dispute, so I don't know the current status

here was a spot at 5th St & Cecil B Moore Ave, called Graffiti Wall or Graffiti Corner. It's an odd intersection, but hosted three block long stretches for people to paint on. For decades it hosted some of the most amazing street art in the city.

This is my favorite picture of Stonewall.

They knew they were getting arrested just for being LGBTQ+.

Yet... they're still here, standing outside of the boarded up Stonewall Inn, smiling as the world was at a fever pitch of hatred against them.

I think about it a lot in moments like this.

The former USS John F Kennedy aircraft carrier leaving Philadelphia to be scrapped.

The JFK had been docked in Philly for about 18 years. It was a friend I visited often, usually about once a month or so. Every Labor Day, I and a few friends would visit PNSY to visit her and the other ghosts scattered about. She will be the last of her kind to visit the city.

He didn't have details on who was flying the drone, but said the drone was destroyed and the Super Scooper - a massive fixed-wing plane that can drop large amounts of water - was damaged.
