Hello Spring I couldn't resist including you in a painting any longer. This is all done in watercolours. The lettering is drawn by me in pencil and then I paint over it with watercolours and white gouache. I don't use computers for this, just 4 years of training at uni. As the world seems so very scary right now, I'm fully focussed on Spring blossoms and bird song.
The Robins are serenading me wherever I go. And now the Wrens are joining in too.

Not all paintings come easy and this is one of the hardest I've ever painted.

Yes here too. A tree full of blackthorn blossom (up high) was a surprise. Against the black sky of a coming storm it looked incredible ❤️

I've not been on here much this week. A long, stressful week.

But in that time I've seen so many signs of Spring arriving. Including a huge Blackthorn tree in full bloom.

It is coming. And I love it.

With everything that’s not gold, I use a scanner. But with the gold, I have to take photographs and my family have to put up with me wandering around the house in every direction, looking for the perfect spot! I feel so foolish.

I know that we live in a world where we scroll so fast.
But if you get a minute to click on any of the pictures and see the beautiful features that each of these animals have, I really recommend it. The feathers around the Tawny Owl's eyes particularly. Layer upon layer.
