Huge Star Trek shot update! Fixed all sorts of issues, added some cool VFX to the scrubbing action, and fixed the lighting angles. High-sample render, working on the SFX now! Enjoy, and suggestions are welcome!

We've had a fully functional demo of our Advance Wars style game, 'Skies of Chaos: Battlefields' for a while. But I might re-do the maps in 3d/lowpoly, but keeping the 2d sprites. Needs something more to visually stand out π§π€. #pixelart #gamedev #indiedev
bsky loves to ruing the quality of gifs... will this video fair any better!....
A bit more progress on this zelda inspired tileset. Feeling nice and lush so far. Not quite happy with the grass yet - already done a lot of versions! but coming together! #pixelart #gamedev #indiedev
Next up is to figure out a design for the player character!

low-poly laws dictate that this rat must be an important character (enviro rats don't get bones nor textures above 32px size).
Yep! Competitor for the advanced warp drive research program with the Excelsior! (Think F-32 and F-35) Repurposed after the famous humiliation of that program as a long range, long endurance general scientific vessel.
Star Trek shot update! Some of the timing on the scrubber masks got f'd up, but I'll fix that in the next go round. Also, I feel like the lighting angle shifts a bit *too* much over the course of the shot. I'll tone that down. Enjoy, and suggestions are welcome!
Actually, I just remembered that I already have! This is an archive of all the textures I've used on my ships. All the Starfleet vessels use the same texture set. drive.google.com/file/d/1t13S...
I did! I actually made them in 3dsmax! I can post them up sometime if you're interested?
It's a combination of deliberate UV mapping and procedural triplanars. The textures are 16K resolution square!
EXACTLY. :P
Nope, it was more WALL-E, to be honest. Also, I needed to have a way to convey how minor the damage was - if a glorified karate student can buff it out, then it can't be that bad, right? :D
Another WIP Star Trek shot! This one will have a voiceover commenting on how they managed to prevent all but very minor damage, then you have these workbees in floor polish mode. :D Suggestions welcome!
Six shiny Star Trek logos, all recreations of officially-used logos except for one. 1. As it appeared on the Original Series VHS tapes 2. As seen on one of the Original Series soundtracks 3. As used on the Strategic Operations Simulator game 4. From the 25th Anniversary logo, 1991 5. As used on the TNG VHS covers 6. My own mashup logo, in the style of the Wing Commander logo 7. The Deep Space Nine logo 8. The Voyager logo

Yes! There is an extension mod you can play now, where within the SC2 arcade, you can play with both SC1 or SC2 factions, on any multiplayer map. And there are SC1 vs SC2 tournaments. They also are making some campaign mission remakes too in the future. More info: liquipedia.net/starcraft2/U...
This was a quick inspirational painting using a #Homeworld 2 background by the legendary Rob Cunningham as a base and staging the new HW 3 style of missile frigates I was developing with Aaron Kambeitz.
A screenshot of a Terran base from the StarCraft 2 Evo Complete mod. The game engine is StarCraft 2 but nearly all of the units and buildings and resources have new custom models, textures, animations, fx, and functionality based on StarCraft 1. In this image I modeled some of the unit/structure assets and textured most of them. Lots of talented artists involved.
A screenshot of a Zerg base from the SC Evo complete mode, showing Zerg units and buildings and minerals with SC1-like appearances. The hydralisk is a 'classic skin' created by Blizzard, but the other assets are new from scratch. I made the zerglings, overlord and spawning pool in this screenshot.
For many months, Blizzard had had to suspend users publishing custom SC2 maps for good reason, which killed some of the public momentum for the Evo Complete mod since the makers were no longer able to push regular art asset updates. Now, map publishing is back! So expect more of this sort of thing:
