As a person who lives car-free, the effect this has on me is negligible.
And I hope this spurs more people to demand walkable, bikable, transit-friendly places to live. Fossil fuels have always been a threat to national security and our pocketbooks
The kids keep telling us we should be doing reels so I guess we're doing reels.
Atlanta! We've been going to as many pro sports games as possible while on book tour and always root for the home team. But as excited as we are to see the Hawks play we can't root for the home team this time out.
See you at the Plaza Theatre on March 13th!
If you hear a politician claim there really IS a βwar on carsβ in your city hall (and we donβt mean in an ironic way, like @thewaroncars.bsky.social does it), you have full and enthusiastic permission to steal @brenttoderian.bsky.socialβs reply below. #UrbanTruth
health of a society is inversely proportional to how badly you need a dashcam in it
San Diego has the third highest transportation cost burden in the country.
The reason? Cars, of course! www.kpbs.org/news/economy...

PLEASE HELP US SHARE THIS: βWeβve let the lies be far too successful, and thatβs significantly hurt our cities. No more.β
Itβs our blunt NEW @usa.streetsblog.org op-ed sharing why weβve created @urbantruth.bsky.social. SPOILER: We need to call out the lies and tell the truth much more persuasively!

In another city on a river beginning with M*, you can lose your license for just one of the offences Minneapolis gives an $80 fine for, and you lose your license for four offences Minneapolis thinks are worth $40 fines. Road fatalities are < half the Minneapolis rate over there.

Rep. @katiejonesmpls.bsky.social and baby Hans, welcome to The War on Cars.
Lordy we are madly car obsessed in this country .. it's like an addiction and we know what people will do when they're hooked on drugs for example.
I have experienced what people can and will do in cars and it ain't pretty and it kills.

Unpopular opinion but turning right at a red light should not be legal in San Francisco (or anywhere else). Right on red makes horrors like this all too possible. sfstandard.com/2026/03/03/m...
