White House YouTube showing claymation of Trump
This is an actual livestream from the White House YouTube channel ahead of SOTU
βThe only thing more powerful than hate is love.β
MAGA wanted you to boycott this.
maybe we shouldnt have put right wing podcasters in charge of the world
Imagine how much theyβd be lying about what happened without all the videos showing it from multiple angles.
Media should stop quoting anything from DHS/ICE/ the admin in its reporting, seeing as itβs, on its face, entirely uncredible.
I donβt think immediate execution is a reasonable punishment for annoying the heavily-armed masked agents of the state.
Today was the start of the fourth week of the year. Weβve only completed three weeks.
What.
This line graph illustrates the percentage change in agency staff levels from the previous year for nine major U.S. federal scientific and health organizations between the fiscal years 2016 and 2025. The agencies tracked include the CDC, Department of Energy, EPA, FDA, NASA, NIH, NIST, NOAA, and NSF. For the majority of the timeline between 2016 and 2023, the agencies show relatively stable fluctuations, generally staying within a range of +5% to -5% change per year. However, there is a dramatic and uniform plummet starting in the 2024β25 period. Every agency depicted shows a sharp downward trajectory, with staffing losses ranging from approximately -15% to over -25%. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) shows the most significant decline, dropping to roughly -26%, while the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) shows the least severe but still substantial drop at approximately -15%.
This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again.

im getting disturbing reports that donald trump is doing exactly what he said he would and the results are exactly as disastrous as everyone said they would be
MMFA post 1/14/26: X (formerly Twitter) is releasing new Terms of Service effective January 15, 2026. Media Matters for America does not accept these new terms. You can still find us elsewhere: Bluesky, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, and of course, at mediamatters.org, where we are still full speed ahead calling out right-wing media misinformation.
The death of the consensus that the January 6 insurrection was a terrible event brought about by Trump's lies, in increasingly depressing headlines from my pieces over the last five years.

Misinformer of the Year Nick Fuentes embodies the MAGA movement's cynical embrace of extremism as a route to political power. After a power struggle in the MAGA universe over his place in the movement, the podcaster is reaping the rewards of the online attention economy. Fuentes is our 2025 Misinformer of the Year.
The MAGA movement is made to create content for the fringes and by the fringes - Fuentes understands that the only real currency is attention, at all costs. And it works: Fuentes has appeared on at least 20 right-wing shows since July, garnering 28.4 million+ views.
In the midst of a struggle over the future of MAGA, many conservatives are warning about the spread of antisemitism taking over the right by Fuentes's followers. A friendly October interview with Tucker Carlson elicited backlash from right-wing pundits, who called it "sick" and "despicable."
Fuentes' core message is that Trump's agenda is a watered-down version of what's really needed to improve America: More repression, even more hate, even more division, and by putting more of his fellow cowards in positions of absolute power. It might be the biggest lie of them all.
Right-wing media entered a crowded and fractured new era in 2025. Nick Fuentes reaped the rewards.

Last week a House committee said Bidenβs pardons should be βnull and voidβ if signed by autopen
@mmfa.bsky.social found that pardoned J6ers have said during podcast interviews that Trump didnβt even sign their pardons. Now he seems totally unaware of this pardon

If ever in doubt on why Trump is doing something, you'll rarely go wrong by just assuming it's part of the Trump-Fox News Feedback Loop.
i cannot believe they are expecting us to play along with this "might not be his signature" farce and that a lot of people actually are, i feel like ive lost my goddam mind
I would simply not have voted to confirm the guy who hauled a bear carcass down from upstate New York and left it in Central Park.

"The Sweeney uproar wasnβt a meaningful controversy, but it became a major media story because thatβs how todayβs information ecosystem functions," @passantino.bsky.social writes in his Saturday column for @status.news. www.status.news/p/sydney-swe...
My latest: I started a Substack and wrote about Dems raising money to build up progressive influencers. If they attach too many strings to the money, they're doomed.

When we saw @mmfa.bsky.social & @ohhkaygo.bsky.social analysis of the political leanings of the top streams, podcasts, & other online shows, we wondered how many were sharing false info about climate change. Turns out it's most of them!

So glad my pop culture knowledge finally came in handy @onthemedia.bsky.social. Never guessed it would be in the context of a explaining a Candace Owens video.
Make sure to listen to last week's episode, it's a bit of a format-breaker and a weird time! www.wnycstudios.org/podcasts/otm...
Trump saying that heβs going to send US citizens to be imprisoned in another country, while the admin says that fed courts canβt mandate an βact of diplomacy or incursion uponβ that countryβs sovereignty after it illegally sent someone there seems like a 5 alarm fire everyone should pay attention to
I had been doubtful that we were going to have a "this is the crisis moment" with Trump, as opposed to "everything about this is a destructive catastrophe."
But the Abrego Garcia case is the crisis moment.
