In #mathstoday year 9 finally know the difference between the radius and diameter, and year 12 looked at transformations of functions.

Mine are laminated! I’m using them next week with year 10. I’ll try to remember to do a ‘maths today’ post 😁

The four functions: a) Calculate the area of a square given its diagonal. b) Calculate the diagonal of a square given its area. c) Calculate the perimeter of a square given its area. d) Calculate the area of a square given its perimeter.

I think this could be a nice task to bring together Area, Perimeter, Pythagoras and Inverse functions.

With the main idea that functions are meant to do something useful with an input!

I love the idea of this, but I’m so uncoordinated it sounds like a recipe for disaster!

I realised yesterday just how early the exam is and how little time we’ll have for revision! We’ll have a couple of weeks, but that feels quite tight 🫣
