Spent the last couple of days at the #copimconference and reflecting on the range of personal and disciplinary perspectives represented. Leads to a mix of: “I can take this away and use it”, “I’m enjoying this discussion“ and “I don’t know what to do with this yet”. All are good in their own way.
We do get a selected number of the comments onscreen over Peter, so post snark at your peril.

Final part of my cross-platform trilogy, assuming I don't discover new options! I rarely use the lifts, unless I have heavy baggage. But for completeness (double lifts replacing the double stairs, both lifts starting at ground level, one needing to travel to meet me) it's a respectable 2:20.
My station route test part 2 has surprising results. Same start and end points but using the stairs (into car park, up main stairs, across bridge, down platform stairs) comes in at 1:57. I did not expect such a significant time saving over route test part 1.
Because I like to KNOW, I am testing the fastest route to the far platform at my local station. From the underpass entrance to the far platform (underpass, slope, another slope, down the stairs) is 2:36. At a reasonably brisk pace, considering it's not yet 07:30.
Starting to find my feet in my new role at @lboroor.bsky.social. It's been a good start: I've had a warm welcome, my staff card and IT account were ready and waiting, and all the trains have run on time (so far, touch wood). Pleased to be here!
My other half disappeared ours while I was still at work. It took me a while to work out what had happened.
It's my second-to-last day @researchconsulting.bsky.social. The week has been full of last meetings and milestones with both the RC team and our clients. Although the work has always been interesting, it's the people I'm going to miss most!
I'm pleased to share I'll be joining @lborouniversity.bsky.social Library as Open Research Lead in January. I've worked with lovely people on interesting projects @researchconsulting.bsky.social but it feels good to return to libraries & I'm excited to directly support research again! #openresearch
