Van Orden didn’t take live questions from the audience during the tele-town hall. A staffer during the call noted “a few folks sent in questions ahead of time,” which the staffer read.

Multiple people who participated in the call told me the comment function was turned off.

Van Orden noted there are “a lot of people” requesting in-person town halls but said: “to have somebody screeching in the background that is not having a productive discussion… is unacceptable.”

Said he wants to “be the most accessible member of Congress possible.”

Rep. Derrick Van Orden today opened his tele-town hall saying he won’t hold in-person town halls because there is “a group of George Soros-funded agitators going around the country” disrupting GOP town halls.

“I’m not going to allow them to do that," he said.
