My favorite show of Europe 25
So who won big on Polymarket with this one?
I have 171k essentially painless miles on my 2016 Outback. It has put trucks and Jeeps to shame on rough roads. I change the oil every 6k and she just keeps going. I love that vehicle. Congrats!
Live debut of this was a real "OH SHIT THEY'RE DOING IT!" moment

Who made this π
HBD to Made In Timeland and to 2022's Return of the Curse of Timeland, a raging marathon show which gave birth to Magenta Mountain, Dripping Tap, and Garden Goblin, and also returned Trapdoor and Hot Wax to the rotation. Hot damn!

Sea Of Trees Please
King Gizzard Gorge 2024 setlist
Technically it was not on the setlist but it's on the tracklist so it counts!
Just fucking support local music
Vividly remember the Reddit debate over that was a "real" Vegemite lol
I feel similarly but last time I ate fungus I fell asleep, so, not sure what that means
Top 3 burritos (interpret as you please)
How I ar ri ve d o n b l e u k s y
I work for a water utility. Can confirm we are very much on edge for this summer.
I think one of the things that bothers me the most about the way Polymarket presents itself to the world is that it's adopted the language of journalism to make itself sound more legitimate. Like look at this post from yesterday morning incorrectly "projecting" the winner.
There is also a video of the Mind Fuzz suite from the festival set:
March 4, 2016: check out Stu (with a little help from Amby) busting out solo electric versions of It's Got Old, Vegemite, and Stressin' prior to their festival set in Zeewolde
Vegemite (Oddments)
People who back into parking spots cannot be truly present. You envisioned your departure the moment you arrived
10 years since the Ancienne Belgique show - a fantastic set with an excellent sound and video capture. It's a real treat to get a document like this from this era of Gizz.
I'm looking forward to a first listen of the 2023 tour kickoff in Paris today.
I have the Japanese and Noongar versions!
The normalization of the crypto and options-betting games go into it too. And it's so obvious that these markets are fixed and there are now incentives for politicians to make policy decisions to drive gambling outcomes. And then the audacity to sell it as a public service equal to journalism...
"After discussing with those directly affected by the attacks, who had dozens of questions, we realized that prediction markets could give them the answers they needed in ways TV news and X could not."
One of the most deranged things ever written
At least seven different accounts on the platform Polymarket appear to have collectively made over $1.5m on bets that the US would strike Iran this weekend. Five of these accounts are new accounts that have made no other bets; one more appears to have only also bet on strikes last weekend. One more, "Magamymanβ, has previously bet mostly on US and Israeli strikes against Iran over the past year. All of these accounts are anonymous. A crypto analytics platform has called six of them "suspected insiders", noting that their bets were funded in the past few days and timed specifically for this weekend. These accounts collectively made roughly $1.2m.
Polymarket received investment last summer from a venture firm backed by Donald Trump Jr., who sits on its advisory board. Months after this investment, US regulatory authorities ended ongoing investigations into the platform for operating an unregistered derivatives trading platform and possible violations of money laundering laws. Earlier this year, a similarly new account on Polymarket appeared to make nearly half a million dollars betting on Maduro's capture. Polymarket has posted a statement: βNote on Middle East Markets: The promise of prediction markets is to harness the wisdom of the crowd to create accurate, unbiased forecasts for the most important events to society. That ability is particularly invaluable in gut-wrenching times like today. After discussing with those directly affected by the attacks, who had dozens of questions, we realized that prediction markets could give them the answers they needed in ways TV news and X could not."
Never forget what it's really about
no war no borders no cops no prisons no to all of this shit
I'll have to check the bird song again, that's a song that could get some real nice first-set jamming in that era
Love 9/17, that TOO just keeps going and stays hot. Also really love the 9/3 Folsom He's Gone > TOO > Wharf Rat. Seems like that Folsom show gets overlooked despite sitting smack between Veneta and the rest of Sept 72, maybe because the recording is not awesome
