He was a wealthy French shop owner, and theater and food critic who published Almanach des Gourmands, a gastronomic treatise, and one of the first food magazines - Journal des Gourmands et des Belles

Hannah Glasse (1708–1770) published The Art of Cookery Made Plain and Easy (with 972 recipes) in 1747 in England. It went through 40 edtions and was published in the US in 1805. It had the first curry recipe in an English cookbook and was the first to mention Yorkshire pudding in print

Eliza Acton (1799 – 1859) was a British poet and cookbook author, who published Modern Cookery for Private Families in 1845

She's credited with being the first to list ingredient and include suggested cooking times. It included the first recipes in English for Brussels sprouts and spaghetti

Elena Zelayeta (1898–1974) was a Mexican-American author known for "Elena's Famous Spanish" & "Mexican Recipes"

A chef and restauranteur, she lived in San Francisco

Zelayeta was the first Latina American with her own cooking show, called It's Fun To Eat with Elena, filmed after she went blind

Lena Richard (1893-1950) of New Orleans was a chef, author, and restaurateur. She graduated from the Fannie Farmer Cooking School in 1918 and opened her own cooking school in Louisiana

In 1949, she became the first Black woman to host a cooking show

Liz Lemon, Grace Adler, Fran Fine's mother, and Lesley Knope immediately come to mind.

Bartolomeo Scappi (c. 1500 –1577) was an Italian chef from Lombardy. He authored Opera Dell'Arte del Cucinare, which was continually published from 1570 to 1643 and has the first known picture of a fork. An English translation was done in 2008

James H. Salisbury was an American physician. He introduced his eponymous dish of ground beef with gravy in 1888.

He created it for his low-carb fad diet, Beef and Hot Water Therapy for Healing and recommended eating Salisbury steak at least 3x's a day

Fanny Cradock (1909–1994) was an English critic, wildly popular TV chef, repped the British Gas Co, wrote 30+ cookbooks and the "Bon Viveur" column for The Daily Telegraph from '50-'55
She was very camp and popularized pizza and shrimp cocktail in the UK
