A clip from an article that reads "The balances in those surplus funding sources, however, are declining. In March of 2024, the agency's projections for the 2025 state budget year were a $3 billion general fund budget surplus plus $3.7 billion in the Taxpayer Relief Fund. In other words, the combined surplus in those two accounts in less than two years has dropped from $6.7 billion to $3.5 billion."
We are still waiting for anyone who did this to share a plan for what will happen in 2 years when the surplus is gone.

Headline says it all.
More tragic news. Another Iowan lost their life. Rest in peace to Maj. Jeffrey R. OβBrien from Indianola. Thank you for your service. www.kwqc.com/app/2026/03/...
I've had enough, and I think Iowans have, too.
Iβve been saying this for years β every year on the 4th of July we celebrate Independence Day after denying independent voters the same rights at the ballot box. Itβs wrong. I signed this, others should too! openprimaries.org/declaration-...

A photo of a press release that reads: Rob Sand Campaign Responds to Blatant Lie from Randy Feenstra DES MOINES, IA β Today, Republican candidate for governor Randy Feenstra released a new ad lying about Rob Sandβs record, falsely claiming Rob would refuse to stand to protect American citizens. Immediately following the State of the Union, Rob appeared on WHOβs The Simon Conway Show and answered this question point-blank: Simon: βIf youβd have been in that Chamber, would you have stood up or stayed sat down?β Rob: βI would have stood up and I wouldβve applauded. I think thatβs pretty basicβ¦β
Randy Feenstra is lying to Iowans. Again.

Iowa: please join me in praying for Declan Coady, a 20-year old Army Reservist and Drake student, who was one of the lives lost among the escalating conflict in the Middle East. www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/2...

The two party system is broken.
The PIE program is all about finding efficiencies & saving tax dollars. And eating more pie.

A governor should have the authority to respond to emergencies, shape the budget, and hold government officials accountable. Instead, political insiders are changing the rules because they know I'm ready to hold them accountable and put an end to their corruption.
Not EVERYTHING online needs to be political - especially lunch.

If you visit Bridgewater, Iowa (pop. 148) watch out for La Familia Frese! Three brothers that really run things! (Just kidding- everyone knows the city clerk Mary Dunn is the real muscle behind the operation.) Congrats on your PIE Award for govt efficiency!
Big budget surplus = good.
Using that surplus for wasteful spending = not good.
Right now, Iowa is spending $300 million on an unaccountable voucher program while constitutionally underfunding public education. Thatβs not an accident β itβs a choice.
Term limits? Easy answer: yes, I support them.
In 2020, as Auditor, my office found a nearly 900% increase in illegal denials of care after Iowa privatized Medicaid. This experiment failed. As governor, I will take the steps to reverse it. apnews.com/article/busi...

A good friend shared with me the other day that hit me like a ton of bricks. βLet us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.β Galatians 6:9
Iowa public schools used to be our stateβs crown jewel. Now, weβre middle of the pack at best. I'm a proud product of Iowa public schools, and want us to get back to the top because that's what our students deserve. #PublicSchoolWeek

Iowans are struggling because our elected leaders arenβt focused on the issues that matter. I'm running to lower costs, strengthen the economy, invest in public education, and to deliver for all Iowans.
The 209 has a new home!
I'm a public servant, not a politician. As governor, that will be my mindset - I will do whatever it takes to get things done because that's what Iowa deserves.
Voters from every corner of the state & from every political background are supporting this campaign because they know I'm not focused on party politics - I just want to do what's best for Iowa families.
So the Iowa GOP handcuffed the Auditor's office when I exposed record amounts of waste, fraud, and abuse of tax dollars. Now they are coming for the Governor's Office because they know we have a shot.
They believe if at first you don't succeed, change the rules.
