The original Revolver in profile. Outside of the somewhat oversized cylinder the gun looks relatively normal in profile.
Two barrels pointing down the front.
The gun was hinged on the top and broke open for reloading.
Both hammers would come down with each shot, but only one would be lined up with a new round.
Hi there, and welcome to #FridayFucksorSucks, a weekly game with simple rules.
This week, we have a Nico Werke "Wild West" Revolver, a 20 shot, double barreled revolver chambered in .25 ACP. Made in 1910 in Belgium, it fired from alternating barrels and were sold for home defense.

What I need is for Brooks Brothers, JoS. A. Banks, or a similar shop to have a large selection of holsters to be fit. Mail order is no way to be properly heeled.

This is a great post - not only about the Dinosaurs, but various things related to both Crystal Palaces, and really interesting to read about the archive project itself π

The image is supposed to be a single action pistol in a holster, part of an advertisement from the Single Action Shooting Society for an event at their annual End of Trail match. But because it is generated by AI and AI can never be right, even in a "broken clock twice a day" sort of way, the gun is nearly unrecognizable. I am genuinely at a loss for words in attempting to describe how almost but not quite entirely unlike a pistol this thing is. And I am shocked that someone, probably a whole string of someones within the SASS chain of decision making, allowed this abomination to be published. Studies have shown that the use of AI literally diminishes people's cognitive abilities and the use of this image illustrates that better than it does its intended subject.
You would think an editor at the Single Action Shooting Society would have known what a pistol actually looked like before approving this ad.

A "Vinegar Valentine" from the 1870s depicting a snake with blue coat, yellow tie, doffing a top hat. A somewhat surprised looking woman in a teal dress is in the background. The caption reads "I'm not attracted by your glitter, For well I know how very bitter My life would be, if I should take You for my spouse, a rattlesnake. Oh, no, I'd not accept the ring, Or evermore 'twould prove a sting."
"This concept of 'wuv' confuses and irritates us!"

French novelist Jules Verne was born #onthisday in 1828. His fantastic tales of voyage and adventure have lent themselves to many wonderful illustrations but perhaps none so captivating as those by Γmile-Antoine Bayard for Around the Moon (1870) β publicdomainreview.org/collection/e... #otd

Read the room, Chuck. Leadership, as always, wants to compromise, but your constituates want so much more than that. When you compromise with evil, you are half way to evil. Don't be evil, Chuck.

The magwell of my SARB-15 with a 10-round magazine inserted. Only a very small amount of the magazine is visible.
Made only one purchase at a local gun show today; an adorable 10-round magazine. Very low profile for my bullpup. I passed on the beefy 60 round double-stack magazine. It seemed a little too performative and more expensive than two 30-round mags.
