I ended up taking the max time available through my job’s short term disability program (~ 6 weeks). I felt a lot better after week 2 and mostly recovered around week 3. The first week was the roughest.

I had a minimally invasive laparoscopic myomectomy (just 4 small incisions) 4 years ago, and the symptom and pain relief was worth it. I highly recommend getting an opinion from a surgeon who specializes in fibroids. IIRC, the type, size, and position of the fibroids can impact the surgery options.
