Ongoing headache for Bristol City Council. Overseas landowner, no intention to sell this key site, fire damage caused cycle/pedestrian path to be closed for months. My understanding (things may have moved on) is that council was pursuing a CPO but law not strong enough & owner can name price.
And stronger CPO law + £££. Same for every UK city.
It’s not that councils haven’t thought of these things. It’s that they’re more difficult & expensive than they appear.

I could forgive all the inaccuracies if it was a good film but it isn’t.
What a waste of a great title. The real life stories of any of the brutalist emigre architects would have made for better viewing!
