You, an individual, cannot "fix" the whole world. You can act at the scale of your life. You should act at the scale of your life.
Iβm just a Minneapolitan, standing in front of a country, asking them to stop platforming our mayor for swearing on tv about ICE and then doing nothing substantive while antagonizing city council members that are
I am extremely biased, but the loon is the best.
Loons migrate to the Gulf of Mexico during the winter, where they are reportedly silent.
Their return in spring marks the end of repressive winters.
And when they arrive, they are LOUD. Their haunting calls are the soundtrack to Minnesota springs.
They crush the local economy, deplete city budgets, illegally withhold congressionally allocated funds. In exchange we get masked Texans running wild in the streets, paid for with tax money that was supposed to be used on our healthcare. Thank you to our federal partners.
Mamdani: "I speak of Renee Good, whose final words to the man who murdered her were, 'I'm not mad at you.' I speak of Alex Pretti who died as he lived, caring for the stranger. ICE shot him bc he did something they could never fathom ... let us offer a new path: one of defiance through compassion."
there are going to be four national pizza chains on one small stretch of Hennepin Ave and yet they will say uptown is dead

Here is a video taken just this morning of ICE pepper spraying my friend who was standing several feet away, and behind a fence, from agents attempting an abduction.
Nothing about their conduct has changed. We need to continue our observations but please do so as safely as possible.
Fuck ICE.
βWe Keep Us Safeβ β Radical Vision Now the Best Defense in Occupied Minneapolis
The weak "deesclation of tensions" letter from large Minnesota businesses elides how instrumental they were in the creation of Operation Metro Surge, through public support & active lobbying for the Big Beautiful Bill that allocated $170 billion for mass deportation.
Walz, Frey, Trump, Homan, Noem, Miller are all aligned in wanting us to believe theyβve negotiated a de-escalation. Theyβre all lying. Thereβs no change on the ground. DHS brushed that magic βbenefit of the doubtβ dust off and continues terrorizing our community.
Abolish. Prosecute. Impeach.

Someone once said NextDoor is the social network for dogs if they could type. Itβs always βwhatβs that noise?β and βwhoβs that stranger?β which is exactly what I imagine my dogs would text other neighborhood dogs.
Oh that sounds amazing! Iβm going to get dynamo lights on my summer commuter for Christmas. Canβt wait to see it!!

ISAIAH stopped doing local political organizing this year, and while some residents tried to keep the effort going I think we could feel the loss of ISAIAH pulling out. We β€οΈ MPLS organized hard around the caucus and with the Uptown Business Association to scare lots of folks.
